What's around you, and how long would it last? Enter a ZIP code or street address. The map shows the Census ZIP area you're in, the ZIP areas touching it, and your county — with the food stores, power plants, substations, fuel terminals and stations, hospitals, nursing homes, fire/EMS and police stations, dams, cell towers, pharmacies and water works inside them.
The panel adds rough estimates: how much food is on local shelves and how many days it would feed the people who live there, fuel in station tanks, generating capacity, hospital beds. Every number carries a tag:
A discussion tool, not an emergency plan: public data is incomplete and the estimates are deliberately simple. Nothing you type is stored; a typed address is sent to the Census Bureau's geocoder (or, if it can't match, Esri's or OpenStreetMap's) to place it on the map.
